Michael and Ronan’s story continues in UNWELCOME, book two of The Archangel Academy Series.  Even though some people have dubbed this series the Gay Twilight because at the heart of both vampire sagas is a love story, the main difference is how that love story is told.  I didn’t want to write a supernatural love triangle and have Michael and Ronan’s relationship threatened by an outsider.  I wanted their love to grow because of the strength of their commitment to each other.

As the story continues, Michael’s found new friends, a new love, and a place that feels more like home than Weeping Water, Nebraska ever did.  But he also finds that immortality and being a just-made vampire isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.  He suffers growing pains – physically and emotionally.  His new life, like his new abilities, is raw and unpredictable.

Beyond that he has to deal with a host of sinister characters.  There’s Edwige, his new ‘mother-in-law’; Jean-Paul, the lecherous limo driver; David, the new maniacal headmaster; Nakano, Ronan’s bitter ex-boyfriend; and Brania, David’s psychopathic daughter.  Michael’s got a lot on his plate!  But the most important thing he has is Ronan’s unwavering love and commitment.  It’s their passion – and compassion – for one another that I believe sets these books apart from the other vampire series out there.
